A game changer in my habit transformation
You cannot know what works until you try it out. I'll save you the trouble and tell you what worked for me. Starting my coaching business was a big lesson in habit transformation.
I used to be THAT girl.
A girl having noodle legs, thinning arms and eye bags.
Exhausted after working on multiple things I signed up for.
Drained out after socialising, not saying no to events and parties.
Eating junk, not exercising enough.
After a hard realisation, I was able to kick these habits out the door but did not have the good ones to replace them.
That left me feeling confused like a newbie in unknown territory.
4 months and one gigantic mindset shift later, here I am.
Working towards what I strongly feel is my calling.
Cultivating deeper relationships.
Ditching the FOMO and getting comfortable spending time alone.
Eating balanced meals and working out regularly.
So what changed? What made me get my ducks in a row? What cultivated this discipline?
Starting my business did.
I had everything I needed to start my practice as a life coach.
Good listening skills coupled with the art of asking the right questions to get desired answers (something I picked up while training as a journalist)
Personal experience with going after what I want - anything from career and skill development to lifestyle changes and weight loss, systems are the name of the game. So the ability to come up with actionable steps to help my clients achieve what they want.
Empathy and motivation.
Strong communication skills coupled with a strong purpose.
Target audience as millennial and Gen Z women, the demographic I’m most familiar with.
A platform like X to build a personal brand
What was stopping me?
Technically, nothing.
So and I started. Starting the business made me get my ducks in a row. Now I had made commitments, and I had to show up.
It automatically pushed me to
cultivate discipline
plan tasks for hand
stick to schedules
journal regularly
have a good lifestyle to stay energetic
channel my creative energy and write regularly
And even besides this, the conversations I had with women struggling with mental clarity taught some priceless lessons. (but more on that later)
Building a business a truly is great hack for self development.
