Read this if you have failed recently
Not your sappy motivational post, it's a reality check
Failure can come in many shapes and forms - losing jobs, getting rejected from the programs you wanted to be a part of, heartbreaks, or simply not being able to achieve what you wanted to. No matter which one of these you encounter, failure is the reason you’re reading this post right now. The reason that makes you feel like you are not worth anything. The reason that makes you binge chocolates and tv shows at night and keeps you from getting out of bed every morning.
In short? It’s the reason that holds you back in life. And the more power you give it, the more control it gains over you. Slyly keeping you from showing up as your best self everyday like a manipulative puppet master.
But what if I tell you that your freedom is just one step away.
That all you require is one mindset shift.
People often say “change the way you look at loss and failure.”
Yes, it sounds BS and cliche but they are not wrong. You just do not know the “how” part.
Try considering this.
Yes, failure destroys us. No one is denying that.
However think about this:
Failure destroys the version of us that NEEDED to be destroyed!
In that case, isn’t it alright? It’s an opportunity for growth.
So yes go ahead grieve your losses. Cry your eyes out. Eat a tub full of ice cream or get a bad haircut.
But once you are over the grieving stage, understand that this happened for the best reasons. You needed to experience this in order to become a better version of yourself tomorrow.
I’ll close on that pleasant note.
What are your ways of handling failure?
